VDF & VAAC Executive Director Visits Ho Teaching Hospital Annex

The Executive Director of the Volta Development Forum (VDF) and President of the Volta African American Chamber (VAAC), Mr. Daniel Agboka Dzegede, Monday paid a working visit to the Ho Teaching Hospital Annex, which houses the Hospital’s Medical Tourism Coordination Office.

The visit was to have firsthand information on the hospital’s Medical Tourism agenda and how VDF could help position the Region as a Medical Tourism destination.

Mr Anthony Bells Kafui Kanyi, the Medical Tourism Coordinator of the Ho Teaching Hospital, said the Hospital was investing in state-of-the-art facilities, equipment, and training of personnel to create niche areas for medical tourism.

He said discussions were ongoing for the Hospital to create niche for spinal surgery to start with.

Mr. Kanyi said the Hospital, situated in the lush and tranquil landscape of the Oxygen City of Ho, would soon start offering wellness retreat/tourism packages, world-class medical services, and innovative wellness programmes.

He said one such programmes would have a Corporate Wellness Retreat tailored for organisations seeking to enhance employee well-being, productivity, and overall health.

The retreat provides a unique opportunity for corporate teams to rejuvenate, refocus, and build resilience in a refreshing, health-conscious environment.

Mr Kanyi said it would promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being among corporate employees and individuals.

 It would also reduce workplace stress and improve work-life balance while enhancing team cohesion and leadership skills through wellness activities.

He said the targets were corporate executives and managers, business professionals and entrepreneurs, individuals seeking stress management, and organisations committed to employee well-being and retention

Mr. Kanyi said the retreat would feature a blend of health-focused, team-building, and relaxation activities, including Music Therapy Sessions, Comprehensive Health Screening (Blood pressure, BMI, cholesterol, etc.,One-on-One Medical Consultations with experienced specialists, Physiotherapy & Guided Meditation/Breathing Exercises, Spa Services & Therapeutic Body Massages, Nutritional and Diet Counselling with expert dietitians and Sleep Health and mental well-being Sessions.

Mr. Dzegede commended the Hospital for the foresight and pledged the readiness of VDF to support the Medical Tourism agenda.

He said VDF would engage the Hospital to develop wellness packages for its international guests.
