VDF Welcomes Cultural Book Gallery to Promote Tourism and Social Impact

The Volta Development Forum (VDF) has welcomed an innovative cultural initiative introduced by Mr. Edward Obuobi, a native of Ho. During a visit to the VDF office, Mr. Obuobi presented his latest work—Words Beyond the Blues, Creativity Beyond Imagination—a unique book gallery that documents and celebrates the history, culture, and tourism of the Volta Region and Ghana.

The compilation highlights major tourist sites, cultural activities, traditional dances, cuisine, and the historical journey of Ghana from the Gold Coast era to modern times. Designed as more than just a book, the gallery combines literature with visual arts, featuring abstract paintings, sculptures, and installations inspired by the themes of the book.

Speaking on the vision behind his project, Mr. Obuobi explained that the book gallery aims to use art, literature, and culture as tools for sustainable social impact. A significant part of the proceeds from book sales will be dedicated to supporting vulnerable groups, particularly new mothers and patients battling breast and prostate cancer.

“This initiative is not only about preserving culture and promoting tourism,” Mr. Obuobi said, “but also about giving back to society by supporting those in need.”

Executive Director of VDF, Mr. Daniel Agboka Dzegede, commended Mr. Obuobi for his creativity and commitment. He assured him of VDF’s full collaboration to promote and showcase the project as part of efforts to strengthen tourism and cultural development in the Volta Region and Ghana as a whole.

This partnership reflects VDF’s dedication to advancing initiatives that blend culture, tourism, and social responsibility for the sustainable development of the region.
